I have just been to a talk by
Marco Grob.
He was giving a talk about how he made portrait photography.
The highlights as I remember them :-)
Speed is very essential since people generally have very short attention span and it shows on the picture if they are bored. He often used a single light source and used silver reflectors to create fill and highlights. The silver adds a little structure in the lights making the result less flat. An interesting point was that he mostly used his feet to make focus adjustments by moving relative to the subject.
